Gathering in person is held in equal reverence to the solitary pursuit of individual coursework. The Wheel of the Year turns not only within the quiet chambers of personal study, but in the living pulse of community — where shared voices rise beneath starlit skies. To walk the path alone is to tend the inner flame; to gather as kin is to forge it into a blazing hearth that warms all.

ANNUAL GATHERING - A LIVING SHOWCASE

Our annual gathering, held amid the ancient highlands of the Amathole, is the beating heart of this communion. Timed around the Spring Equinox (21st September) it heralds in the new year, following the opening of winter’s womb and the breaking of the waters of Imbolc.

Here, members are invited not merely to attend, but to offer their unique products and talents in a vibrant tapestry of expression, woven through the rhythm of Highland African-Celtic Games and sacred rites. This is no mere retreat — it is a grand offering where every member becomes both student and teacher, artisan and athlete, storyteller and seer.

HIGHLAND CELTIC-AFRICAN GAMES

  • Cabers of the Mist: Heaving ancient timbers skyward, blending Xhosa strength with Gaelic precision.
  • Stone-Cast Runes: Members inscribe personal sigils upon stones, then hurl them in contests of will and accuracy.
  • Bardic Circles: Poets, drummers, and harpists harmonise beneath the stars, judged not by score but by the shiver of truth in the listener’s spine.
  • Fire-Weaving Dance: A fusion of African rhythm and Celtic reel, where feet stomp the earth and flames sear the skies.

MEMBER-LED OFFERINGS

  • Workshops led by any member - in herbal lore, rune-carving, sacred geometry, or the forging of ritual blades.
  • Artisan Stalls where members display and trade hand-crafted talismans, illuminated manuscripts, mead, and mist-infused oils.
  • Healing Circles offering reiki, sound baths, and ancestral bone readings in the sacred space of community.
  • Feasting Tables laden with offerings from each household — sourdough breads, wild honey, roasted lamb, and nettle wine — shared in honor of the new year.

The mist does not merely drift — it beckons. Let your coursework be the map, but let our gatherings be the journey. Bring your voice, your craft, your strength, your story. Here, in the historic frontier of the Amathole mountains, where Celtic blood and African soil entwine, we do not merely study the Wheel — we become it. Bring your talent. Bring your kin. Bring the fire.
